Due to the high competition to study at The London School of Economics and Political Science (ELSE) having a good personal statement is vital. Having always had an interest in how big firms and organizations manage the economic side of their business studying Economics was an obvious choice for me. During my time at school I had a strong interest in all of my subjects, in particular Mathematics, Ethics, and the science-based subjects. At school I was also a keen member of our Young Enterprise group and helped to raise money for more sports equipment by selling organic vegetables grown in the school’s own vegetable garden.
As well as helping me to develop my communication skills it also inspired me to have a further interest in business and economics. Being able to put economic theories into practice encouraged me to want to study Economics at a higher level. Outside of school I am a keen sports player and am involved in a number of local sports teams including football and rugby, and am also a regular runner. Being involved in sports teams has helped develop my teamwork skills and given me a sense of responsibility.

As I have an active lifestyle I also take an interest in the foods I eat and how they help me perform better during matches or when I’m running. In the future I aim to further develop my cooking skills and create more interesting meals. I hope that my time at ELSE will enable me to develop the vital theoretical and practical skills and experience to gain a position in a company where I can further my real world experience.
