Do you agree or disagree with your classmates’ explanation of the link between the health care professional roles for improving wait times in the emergency room? Explain why.

Classmate 1) Although accreditation plays an integral role in ensuring that health care organizations provide quality services to patients, excellent communication within these institutions also play a critical role in ensuring that patients attain quality health care (Hobson et al., 2010). A nurse, for instance, provides care to patients and helps them meet their needs, prevent illness, and treat certain health conditions. To achieve their role, they need to monitor the patients continually and record any significant information that will aid in either disease treatment or decision making. Nurses are therefore in charge of the holistic care of patients on their roles extend to the physiological, development, spiritual, and cultural needs of an individual. On the other hand, pharmacists also play an integral role in the attainment of quality care. As medication experts, pharmacists can use their expertise to prevent medication errors as well as improving medication health experts by advocating for and ensuring safe and effective medical use. The relationship between health professional splays a critical role in quality health care service delivery. Nurses and pharmacists for part of the majority of health care professionals and have close links with regards to the services they provide.
A great communication model between nurses and pharmacists can ensure the improvement of patient care by preventing errors in administering medicines (Hobson et al., 2010). The health care system is, therefore, one of the most complex yet important sectors that require not only the highest standards of quality but also excellent communication and collaboration among health professionals to attain quality service delivery.

Classmate 2) The first professional role that helps with CQI and health care delivery are hospital administrators. Hospitals administrators are behind the scenes workers that are continually working to make sure they are implementing new policies and protocols for improvement of care. They look at the complaints and the positives they’ve heard from previous patients and see what they should continue to do and what they need to improve on. They can help with improving patient wait times in the emergency room by developing a score chart to bring back the patients and get patients to inpatient rooms if needed. To do this, the hospital administrators can talk to the emergency room doctors and nurses to work with them to figure out the best plan to see what the best way for them is to come up with a plan to decrease the wait time. By using the CQI, they will be able to identify the causes of delays in the emergency rooms and figure out strategies to minimize those delays (Fernandes, C.M.B. 1999). The hospital administrators will also be in communication with the nurse managers to hear their concerns and ideas to help improve care and wait times.

Triage staff is the other professional role that helps with CQI and health care delivery. The triage staff is there to help when patients are first coming into the emergency room. It can be scary for those going into the emergency room and not knowing what the outcome is necessarily going to be. But the triage staff works their best to continually improve the quality of care they are giving every patient. They work hard to communicate with the doctors, other nurses, and the laboratories about updates with their patients. By going this, they can work together to improve the care and decrease the amount of time the patients have to wait. The communication and teamwork with the staff can figure out ways to get the patients a room in the hospital and those who are safety able to be released, so the flow of patients can be steady and have not have overly long wait times.
