Part 1 General Topic (pre-assignment instructions): Before opening the assignment, read the provided sources and look through the sources you have used on your own papers for two that you can use to construct an argument regarding the topic of analyzing sources of information and the problem of misinformation. • A non-scholarly source from among the sources provided to you with this assignment(either primary or secondary sources are fine).
• A scholarly secondary source chosen from the sources previously used in your English 102 essays this semester; it must be a source you have previously used not a new one. As before, be sure to review what constitutes a scholarly source to be sure your scholarly source is actually scholarly. Be sure you have this document saved to your computer as you will need to turn it in with the assignment; the formats accepted will be .doc, .docx, .pdf, .jpg, and .png.
• A non-scholarly source chosen from the sources previously used in your English 102 essays this semester; it must be a source you have previously used not a new one (either primary or secondary sources are fine). In your final essay, you are expected to demonstrate mastery of the following:
Ability to write an original, well-organized, sufficiently developed essay including an argumentative thesis statement that addresses the prompt
Awareness of a general academic audience along with the ability to engage the audience and maintain authority
Reading comprehension of the articles provided
Ability to construct clear, well-formed sentences
Ability to use quoting and paraphrasing to support
your own ideas and claims
Mastery of proper MLA in-text documentation
Ability to construct a proper Works Cited page Note:
