This week, you were introduced to the importance of implementation science in the healthcare field. Now is your chance to examine implementation science at an organizational level.

Assume that your healthcare organization is adopting a new clinical practice, program, or policy (hereinafter “intervention”). Select a topic you are interested in and would like to explore. You will work with this same topic throughout the course. Topics of interest could include but are not limited to, preventing obesity or cancer, establishing health equity, addressing mental health issues, improving collaboration in healthcare, encouraging patient education in primary care, or another topic that relates to your career.

Draft a memo to your organization’s board of directors detailing the proposed goal of the practice and how implementation science can help. Be sure to include the following:

Explain any barriers to the proposed policy and how implementation science can help with this area.
Determine how implementation science might impact the organization’s policy.
Provide recommendations as to why implementation science is necessary for this policy.

Length: 3-5 pages, not including title and reference pages

References: Include a minimum of 5 scholarly resources.

The completed assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
