Over the last three decades, dramatic changes have occurred in the fire environment.  Some of these changes include, but are not limited to, larger homes on smaller lots, light weight construction and increased synthetic furnishings.  Fire research has shown us that much of what we were taught about fire dynamics has been significantly altered by these changes and that some of what we were taught about fire attack tactics is no longer appropriate or safe.  Simply put, the “Traditional” ways we have been fighting fires does not keep pace with today’s fire dynamics.
 
For this assignment, you are to research and discuss the following aspects of firefighting as it relates to the fire dynamics of today.  You will have no problem finding all the information you will need to answer these questions.
1. Discuss how fire dynamics have changed over the past 30 – 40 years.
2. How is the fire service adapting their firefighting tactics to combat these changes?
In your essay, you can discuss the points you think are most important.
You are free to find your own sources but by clicking here for the  Fire Science Management Library Program Guide, which is found in the APUS Library, you will find many articles that will aid in your research.  Once you click on the link I provided, you will click on the Articles/Journals link on the page.  You will then scroll down to the bottom of the page to the box that says Selected Journals for Fire Science.  You can then click on each link in the box and type in your search words.  You will then be able to scroll trough the available articles to determine which are best for the topic.
Your paper must be a minimum of 3 full APA formatted pages not counting the title page, abstract page and reference page and must use a minimum of 3 academically recognized sources.

Please create your response in a Word document and upload as an attachment for submission.

All writing assignments must be submitted in APA format and shall include the following:

     1. Title Page
     2. Abstract
     3. Main Body (With proper in-text citations) to include an Introduction and Conclusion
     4. Reference Page (Be sure to pay attention to the indentions for each source)

     Be sure to include a correct Running Head on each page.

All writing assignments must meet the following page setup:

     1. Times New Roman font
     2. 12 Point font size
     3. Double Spaced
     4. 1 inch Page Margins: Top, Bottom, Left and Right (Not 1.25 inches)

These instructions must be followed or points will be deducted.
