Outline ( only daughter ) novel

Question: In the story, “Only Daughter,” Cisneros apparently felt that her father was not proud of her being a girl and her pursuing a writing career.  However, how would you argue that Cisneros’ father was actually proud of his daughter?
Let’s practice outlining–READ CAREFULLY:

In this assignment, your job is to develop a brief outline that you can use to follow along as you are writing.
First, in your own words and style, write a complete sentence claiming that Cisneros’ father was proud of her.  You can add some reasons (supporting statements’ ideas) within it too.  That’s your topic sentence.
Then, state two to three reasons why.  These are your supporting statements.  Add transitions as well.
Also, identify some useful phrases and sentences within the story that can support each of your reasons.  Just type the quotes out completely–kind of like gathering evidence.
At the end, rephrase your topic sentence.  That’s your concluding statement.  Your concluding statement should reflect the topic sentence and should not have new ideas not covered in the outline.

Submit your outline when you are sure you are completely done.
