After reviewing the background materials and looking into the videos by Sandra Janoff and Marvin Weisbord, I like the video that was at link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPgGv48r_D8. This video is an interview from Kaapz.nl and gives a good synopsis with the concept of Future Search that I feel more spoke to me than the video in the background. It allowed me to see more of a complete description and taking it straight from the developers mouths and why they started this process. This video did help me understand the concepts from the background materials more than the video that was in the background readings. The pieces of the pie had me a little more confused and this allowed me to see some real discussions instead of getting distracted by the moving parts.
When I was looking into the videos by Harrison Owen, I feel that I was able to gather more of an understanding from the interview with Harrison Owen at the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDi0GLTO9ao when he described how he was able to come up with the thoughts of Open Space Technology. I had to laugh a little bit with how he created this at a conference and was thinking that he wouldn’t be able to get through this and he did this over a couple of cocktails and realized how much he was able to learn if there was no true agenda but you were able to almost come up with the agenda that you would like to learn about. I feel that many people can learn a great deal from this way of learning and that it should be applied even more.
